After an unbelievable situation, Brian Banks is getting a second chance on life. Now some may say he should go to college at 26 years old while others say he should jump at the chance at entering the NFL. If I thought it was as easy as just signing his name on the USC dotted line like it once was I would be all for this direction. Who knows what is in store for this young man but I certainly hope that he possess the skills that he had before his life was taken away from him. Its not the lure of wealth that I think is important about having his skill set still intact its really more a matter of being able to do what he loves and be able to provide a healthy happy lifestyle for what I hope will be the best life he can live this day forward.
What do you think? Should he go NFL or NCAA? What do you think will provide the best long term outcome for Mr. Banks?

NFL. You can always go back to college. Opportunities like this only come rarely.
ReplyDeleteNice blog design :)
I agree 100%, go do the NFL thing. If he goes to college he is just wearing more tread on the tires. He's 26 now, take advantage of any opportunity he has not to fulfill his dreams, and if it doesn't work out, go get that degree. Glad the Seahawks are stepping up and giving him that chance. Time will tell.
DeleteI agree with both of you. However, what if a university is willing to give him a scholarship to play? Tough to beat a free education that can set you up for life. Once he is considered a pro he can no longer get a scholarship and his ability to go to college may be dramatically decreased.
ReplyDeleteI know that the state or maybe the fed depending on the situation has to pay an inmate for falsely locking him/her up but I don't know how much. I suppose this could help him get a college degree but a scholarship could take care of it all.
