Come back Clemons

Courtesy of Ultimate Seahawks Fan
I can easily understand where Clemons is coming from in this hold out but we need him to put aside his frustration and get out and play some ball.  We need him not just for his production which has been huge on a team that cannot generate any pass rush but we really need him to help coach Bruce Irvin.  If you recall from comments made by Irvin he did not receive much coaching at West Virginia.  This is the NFL where speed, and your raw talent won't get you were it has always gotten you.

Footwork and some tricks are necessary to survival...especially if you are the 15th overall pick and the first DE taken off the board.  Let's get Clemons back on the practice field asap as we have a very raw rookie who will need some help!  We want dueling hands in the air and a beast mode like mentality on both offense and defense.  Another wasted first round pick on defense will set back the Seahawks in their first year with actually expectations.  Up to this point we have all had no expectations.  Let's get out there and win!!!  See the following link by Sando for continued Clemons talk.

  1. The sky is falling...the SKY is FALLING! 3-2-8-4-3 no those are not my lucky lotto numbers, they are Chris Clemons career sack numbers prior to joining the Seahawks. 22 of CC's career 42 sacks came in the past two seasons when he joined Pete Carrol's hybrid Defense as the LEO defensive end. I personally like Clemons and believe he needs to be signed to a moderate extension (3yr / 21 mil). However, I also think that Coach Carrol believes in his heart that he can take any 4-8 sack/yr defensive end and ostensibly double their sack total in his system.
The beautiful thing about our defense is that PCJS (Pete Carrol John Schnieder) employ a very unique defense that doesn't need prototypical players: huge DB's in Sherman and Browner, a 320lb DE in Big Red, lanky LBs, etc. this gives the Seahawks a notable edge because they can find an intriguing player that no other GM covets and slot them into "the program" as Pete likes to say. It also gives John Schnieder a fair amount of leverage in negotiations, because the player knows he isn't going to command a kings ransom in free agency.
Clemons is a nice player ~ and very important to keep happy this year. But he is not a beast that will tilt the room wherever he goes like say Terrill Suggs Jared Allen. Clemons knows what it is like to be a fringe journeyman (Washington, Oakland, Philadelphia) and won't press his luck this offseason. I see him signing a nice three year extension and moving over to Raheem Brock's spot when Bruce Irvin is ready to rock the LEO by himself.

  2. Now this is a comment. In fact this is author material. Sign up with the link I sent you Travis so you can turn this sort of effort into a real post and add pictures. I want a team of people so that each article has more content and numbers...just like what you did here. With me doing this on my own I am cutting content corners just so I can provide some content each day. Nice job with you thoughts. I enjoyed this a lot!
