John Clayton's Predictions by Division NFC

Okay, to mix it up a little today, I have John Clayton's most recent predictions for the upcoming season. Third up and my favorite will be the NFC West.  What I want you to do is take your best guess of matching up the record to the team. Is my diagram correct or am I showing a defensive package loaded with blitz potential... only to run a base D? I will reveal the correct answers (John Clayton's) tomorrow.  Have fun.  Write out what you think are the correct records in the comment section.

    1. Obviously my friend has his blinders on. I can't blame you Matt for your local Bay Area team was once a proud and powerful dynasty. Some would say the envy of all. I'd be totally biased if I tried to argue against your pick at #1 but I just cannot let you get away with your #2, #3 and #4 picks. They are flirting with blasphemy!!! You need to jump back on this blog and defend your answers because I like bold predictions but this is insanity! The Cardinals beat you 49ers last year and your 49ers cannot play any better than they did last year. I think the entire division got better but the 49ers. You better round up your Bay Area friends to help you justify the mess you created here. Right now I see the Seahawks and the 49ers fighting to the end for 1st. Its too close to tell right now. The Cardinals will come in a close 3rd and the Rams will make giant steps in the right direction but they are still 2 years away.

  2. As a die hard Hawks fan, its hard to bet against my hometown team, but I may have to agree with Matt on this one. Before you burn me at the stake Cody, hear me out. Did anyone do more than the 49ers to improve their team? No! It kills me to write that, but unfortunately I don't think the Hawks are quite where they need to be to win this division. I do however think they will push the Niners and be right on their heels all season long. I predict San Fran at 11-5, Seattle at 9-7, Arizona 7-9, and St. Louis at 5-11. Stranger things have happened and it wouldn't be to far or a reach for Seattle to snatch this one, but they need their line to hold up for a whole season and have to pray they make the right call at QB. Look for a lot of low scoring games on both sides of the ball.
